The T-7s depicted here were part of a study to extend the T-7 role to beyond a training. Pictured are four T-7s, from nearest to furthest: Strike config, OPFOR, Air to Air, vanilla training.

Yes, thine eyes have not deceived you, those really are Conformal Fuel Tanks, and yes the idea, shape and placement is shamelessly plagiarized (visually only) from the then Advanced Super Hornet studies!.
